Dans le septième volume de la série Il Salotto, nous avons décidé de programmer Les Pétrarque Sonnets de Liszt – mais ils n’apparaissent pas de façon classique. Au contraire, les trois sonnets sont présentés dans l’ordre, entrecoupées de musique des contemporains de Liszt, des compositeurs qui savait ou connaissait l’œuvre. Habituellement, ces chansons extrêmement personnelles sont entendus dans les récitals comme un groupe distinct. Comme ils sont tous dans la même tonalité, cela peut donner l’impression que l’on jette dans une autre. Mais, en fait, chaque chanson a un texte différent et le sentiment et, dans l’esprit de la série Il Salotto, nous avons décidé de les séparer par d’autres musiques. Pour diverses raisons, les œuvres de Meyerbeer, Saint-Saëns, Poniatowski, Federico Ricci, Gomes et Verdi semblait choix appropriés.
