Laura Claycomb will teach the The Advanced Course in Opera Singing at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo e Torino starting in the fall 2024, to help students extend their vocal technique and a proper repertoire of their voice, giving them a solid basis with which to tackle auditions and competitions. Students can choose to take their lessons in either Italian, English, French or Spanish.
Every student has the right to two monthly lessons for the academic year from October/November 2024 (immediately following the entrance exam) to May/June 2025, for a total of 16 lessons that will include the presence of the Professor, and for 8 of these classes, also a collaborative pianist. There will also be two studio classes (group exhibition of the entire roster) with the collaborative pianist and Professor, to try out repertoire in front of an audience of their classmates, and a final concert in June, as well as the possibility to use the concert hall of the Accademia to make recordings. The annual course plan foresees one of the following, all to be established in conjunction with the Professor:
- the preparation of an entire operatic role;
- the preparation of a 45-minute to an hour-long recital program;
- the preparation of a 6-aria package for auditions.
