“As already mentioned Laura Claycomb embodies Zerbinetta very movingly too, but vocally she is also excellent. It’s not always the most effortlessly beautiful voice, but the legato is simply superb, and her musicianship gives her singing a great beauty and expressivity. The very highest notes (all those E6s!) are a little harsh, but it’s a small price to pay when the rest is so good: generally the voice is warm, pliant, the coloratura accurate and smooth. “
